As you might imagine, raising a child with special needs can be extremely stressful – a challenge physically, emotionally, and financially.  We are dedicated to giving every child the opportunity of camp, regardless of income.  ESP families are charged an affordable rate and ESP works to supplement the additional costs through fundraisers and donations. Please consider giving the gift of camp.  Your donation will directly improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

ESP activities are designed carefully to strengthen and add new skills, but are always presented as fun and entertaining.  Every child can enjoy sports, games, art, and music if they are structured for their abilities.  This approach is very successful with the children and we believe that ESP makes a real difference in their lives and future. 

ESP Club is a monthly Saturday program that is similar to a day at summer camp. NKA Club (No Kids Allowed) is designed for adults 16+ with developmental disabilities. NKA Club members enjoy varied programs several times a month throughout the community - bowling, movies, karaoke and dinners out on the town. Donations will allow expansion of this program to allow more work-related experiences and foster community relationships.

The Extra Special Piranhas, Piranhas for short, make up ESP’s very own swim team.  Whether they are training for Special Olympics or they simply enjoy being in the water, ESP provides an opportunity for our independent swimmers to swim with their friends throughout the year.  In April 2011, thanks to your support, the Piranhas went to their first swim meet against the Rockdale Sharks!

ESP’s largest program is the Summer Camp, a seven-week program that provides continuous learning as well as social and recreational opportunities for young people with disabilities. Every day of camp is packed full of fun activities, such as swimming, bowling, sports and games, community outings, sleepovers and day trips. ESP provides a variety of activities specifically designed to enhance each participant’s social, cognitive, adaptive and motor skills.
