                                  SUMMER CAMP

                                  Picture
A seven-week program that provides continuous learning as well as social and recreational opportunities for young people with disabilities.  Camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before- and after-care can be arranged with individual staff for extra charges. Day camp is split into four units by age: Youngest, Younger-Middle, Older-Middle, and Oldest units. By the time summer arrives, each unit has a name and theme for the summer. Each unit has a unit leader and five to seven staff members. The overall ratio is 1 counselor for every 2 campers.

                                  Picture
The day begins with flag time, which is full of singing, high-fiving and a whole lot of hip, hip, hooraying as the camp takes time to praise campers for just being who they are. Come join us on Fridays for a special flag time and unit skits from 9:10 to 9:45 a.m.! The morning time rotates through music therapy, sports and games, and unit time. The afternoon consists of lunch (campers bring their own lunch) and bowling on Mondays, Swim Therapy Tuesdays and Fridays at UGA’s Legion Pool. Friday afternoon is “Swim Brag” day: each child/counselor team brags on the skills worked on that week. Parents are welcome to come from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., to watch!

There are special days throughout the summer such as Flour Power and Mud and Water Wars. Field trip week is the last week of camp full of fun adventures and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities!

ESP Summer camp offers a 2:1 counselor ratio, which affords much-needed attention and support to our campers. Camp allows for a variety of activities that give an opportunity for each camper to build confidence and independence, while supplying their families with a much needed "break".

“Thanks for your interest! Please return to this page in March 2012, when we will start accepting applications for summer camp!”
